Paige Renae Huebel

Monday, June 27, 2016
Paige Renae Huebel arrived on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at 5:50 PM, weighing in at 6lb 13oz. She only made her momma push 4 times! Baby Paige has a full head of black hair and is cute as can be. Big sister Claire is so proud of "her" new baby.  We are feeling so blessed!

Spud: 40 weeks

Sunday, June 19, 2016
Well I never anticipated being in this situation, but Baby Girl is LATE! Apparently it's not too common for second time mommies who had baby #1 at 38.5 weeks to have a late baby #2, but I'm hoping this extra time in my belly means she is more ready for the world. (READ: Does not have colic like big sister)!

I'm not quite sure how to describe the 40+ week aches and pains, but they're FOR REAL. There is such limited space for baby to move, which translates to more aches and pains for Momma. For example, I think I'm averaging 8 trips to the potty during the night which means waking up feeling fairly sleep deprived.

On the brightside, the anxiety about my water breaking at the office wasn't realized. I worked my last day on Friday and it was thankfully uneventful :) Another worry was making sure there was someone to watch Claire if things escalated in the middle of the night. This fear has now passed because we have grandparents staying the next couple nights.

So, there's basically nothing to be anxious about anymore.

Except the whole birth thing...

I'm scheduled to be induced on Tuesday!

Cousins Come to Town

Tuesday, June 14, 2016
Claire's cousins, Madison and Ali, came to Houston a few weeks ago. They had a fun Memorial Day celebration with water bounce houses at Granna's church. (I think there were 10+ of these set up and 1 especially for the young'ins).

"Daddy no slide!!"

Such precious girls!

Pool with Granna

Monday, June 13, 2016
I'm going to caption a couple pictures:

Picture 1:
Granna: My grandgirls are so cute
Claire: Mommy and Daddy are always telling me to kick at the pool
Madison: The pool is fun

Picture 2:
Granna: Ok Claire, enough splashing, you're getting me all wet
Claire: Splashing is even more fun than I thought, I should definitely keep splashing
Madison: The pool is fun, but I'm completely wet now. Auntie Liz should have brought my bathing suit

Picture 3:
Granna: At last, no more splashing!
Claire: I can sing at the pool too.
Madison: What brand is that bathing suit Claire? Wonder if it comes in my size?

These cousins are going to create so many stories together! Granna is totally ready :)

Spud: 39 weeks

Sunday, June 12, 2016
Yes, little baby girl is still in my belly. The 40 week mark, also known as the DUE DATE, is at the end of this week. On the bright side, we know we're within 2 weeks of meeting this baby!

On the downside, I have been subject to extreme mood swings and spontaneous crying, which I would like to blame on my overall lack of sleep. Like today when I couldn't get my rain boots off my feet by myself....

Then, with impeccable timing, there will be a moment of extreme cuteness, curtesy of Claire, that makes every last minute of the pregnant lady blues melt away and reminds me all over why there is a baby in my belly. For example, putting on her make-up next to mom. (FYI Claire's make-up is colored foam and looks ridiculously real, but is not real in any way).

"Mommy need mirror" "Dis eyeshadow"

"My do it Mommy" "Daddy need help open"

Claire's vocabulary continues to amaze me.

Ok, Ok, Ok. I'm totally on board and ready to have another GIRL!!!!! Let's do this Baby Spud!

Contractions

Wednesday, June 08, 2016
First sign of contractions this evening, just shy of the 39 week mark. It could mean something or nothing. It could mean have a baby this week or next week, or the week after that... Whichever way you slice it baby will be here very soon!

Swim Lessons, with Company

Monday, June 06, 2016
They turned off the heat on the swimming pool and the water was COLD. Claire was not so sure at first, and honestly either was Daddy. But they both came around.

But when you have Granna and cousin Madison at swim lessons, you have to be a tough girl, and show them what you're made of.

Claire enjoys swimming, especially in the graduated beach pool for kiddos. But we'll have to find an alternative soon because swim lessons are coming to an end.

Spud: 38 weeks

Sunday, June 05, 2016
At 38 weeks pregnant I'm feeling so done. But... Baby Girl is the one calling the shots and she's still enjoying Mommy's belly. So we wait.

So my other Momma's out there here are my symptoms of the week: mild lower back pain, pelvic pressure, nausea, hot flashes, insatiable thirst, antsy, heartburn, swollen hands/feet. So close now!

A trip to the hair salon is just what I needed. I think the 2 inches they chopped off made me feel 5 lbs lighter also :)

Mini-me and I played dress up this weekend. First matching outfits! Success! Claire was so excited, super cute. Ross wasn't sure what to make of it. Either were the other shoppers at Target.

Pretty soon we'll need 3 pairs of matching stretch pants, assuming Ross wants to skip out. :)

Blue Apron

Wednesday, June 01, 2016
Have you heard of Blue Apron food delivery before?

It is a meal delivery program, in which you choose from a menu of say 4 different meal options, and the ingredients for the meal is delivered straight to your door in a refrigerated bag/box. You can then customize how many meals you'd like to receive in a week and for how many people. We have made 3 meals as of today and all were good. I wouldn't say it's the best food I've ever eaten but for busy people who get caught in a food rut, this is a solution! I also like the variety of what is sent: fish, chicken, vegetarian, etc. You can choose to skip weeks when needed, say if you are going on vacation or having a baby :)

You should totally poke around this website and see if Blue Apron might be a good fit for you:
https://www.blueapron.com/

Disclaimer: I don't get any kind of kick-back for saying nice things about Blue Apron, I am just a happy customer (so far).
