October at School

Wednesday, October 29, 2014
Last week was "Wear your PJ's to School" Day. Claire wore her purple birdie PJ's and looked super cute.

The babies also had "Pumpkin Exploration" Day last week. Here are some pictures of Claire investigating the inside of a pumpkin.

Waimea Canyon, Kauai- Part 2

Monday, October 27, 2014
You can make Waimea Canyon State Park an all day adventure, but when you a) have a boo bear and/or b) it's about to pour rain, then you just make the best of it. We went to the main overlook area, but didn't get to hike like we planned because Claire wasn't too keen on long car rides. It's unfortunate that the clouds rolled in when we got to the overlook. Next time...!

"Mom, it is about to rain on us, can you tell Dad it's time to GO"

Claire wants to hold the camera and practice the "selfie"

Teething necklace!

These pictures just don't do the canyon justice. It's so hard to see the depth and scale in the photos. You'll just have to take my word that the canyon was pretty amazing!

Waimea Canyon, Kauai

We visited Waimea Canyon State Park while we were on the island. Multiple signs called this the "Grand Canyon" of the Pacific :) See what you think...

Little tiny farm down in the middle of the canyon,- how did they get there?

Great time with boo bear.

494 Riddle

Friday, October 24, 2014
I have a riddle for you... What is the significance of the numbers 259 and 235 today??

See how many hints it takes you to get to the answer:

1. It's more about the sum of the numbers, which is 494

2. Ross is really proud of this number

3. We have to sign a bunch of papers

4. It takes about 5 hours to drive to the 494 from Houston

5. The 235 comes with a tolit!

Ok I can't stand the guessing games anymore....

We close on the neighbor's property today!! Our ranch is 259 acres and Billy's ranch is 235 acres, but as of today OUR ranch is 494 acres, which is awfully close to 500 acres :) Big exciting news in the Huebel family, that's for sure. It's been a long and arduous journey, but the ink dries today!

Almost immediately after we got a verbal agreement Ross and Adam were doing what they do. Look what I found in my inbox:

Huebel Ranch Hunting Rules
1. If you see a hog you must shoot it.
.....
.....

The complete list of rules will be the subject of a future blog post (I've been informed that I can't post the list yet because they have not been agreed upon by all the owners).

I wonder how long it took them to create this list? I kind of feel like Danielle and I should add some of our own rules, right?!! Afterall, we are co-owners too :)

Happy Friday Y'all!

Sunsets in Kauai

Thursday, October 23, 2014
One of the things we enjoyed together while were in Kauai was family sunsets. Our condo was right on the beach, but oftentimes we were trying to keep baby girl up until bedtime (7pm!) so we needed to walk around outside.

Here's my "sunset crew."

Look at those sleepy eyes.

Ahhhhh, it's 6:45 so I'm starting to meltdown

It's hard to beat sunsets and the ocean isnt it?!

Claire's meal time makes me smile. She loves eating, just like her mommy.

Kauai Landscapes

Tuesday, October 21, 2014
Kauai is a beautiful, lush oasis. It's not all that populated, which makes it feel like you're on an undiscovered island in the middle of the ocean at times. We stayed on the east side of the island, but took a one day northern roadtrip excursion and another day, a southern road trip.

Old lighthouse, marking the northern most tip of the hawaii islands

We got a nice hike in one afternoon. However, the rain clouds swooped in right as we reached the summit. It made for lousy pictures at the very top but we were able to get some nice views on the way up.

Feeding a baby on the side of the mountain, no big deal.

Plateau at the top

And back at our condo, some amazing sunset views.
