Skoooool

Tuesday, March 31, 2015
Both my girls went to school today...

Roma was the new kid on the block at doggie daycare, but I think she had a great time because when she got home, she was spent.

This little nugget went to work with Dad today at 6:30 AM. Claire has been sleeping in till 9 AM, but it's time to change the schedule...

My stay at home mommy days are coming to an end so we're trying to transition Claire back into school and Roma into an occasional doggie daycare to give our landlord (my parents) a break from the four legged grey energy streak. It may be a tougher transition period for the mommy, rather than for baby or the pup!

1st Birthday: Twinkle Little Stars

Monday, March 30, 2015
We had a small "Twinkle Little Stars" birthday party to celebrate Claire's first birthday.  It was a special day for a special little girl!

Putting on shoes before friends arrive

Owwwh, helium balloons are fascinating

PB&J and rice krispie treats

Opening presents with Hailey and Granna.

This daddy is learning that a hasty assembly is clutch at kiddo birthday parties.

YES, FOOD!

OOOOO fire

We love you baby Claire!

Ice Fishing Flashback

Sunday, March 29, 2015
It's harder to find time to blog when you have a kiddo and are in the midst of multiple big life changes... With that being said, I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of Ross and Stone ice fishing one of our last weeks in Alaska... (Feb 2015?)

The Gear

I'm sure Stone got this fish after .1 seconds, he's kinda got a special way with fish

Sonar fish finder, ice fishing rod & reel, and a mini heater-- what more could you want right?

Ross's fish... :)

Gotta stay "warm" on the ice

No, they didn't bring home dinner that day, but they had a fun time.

First Spaghetti

Wednesday, March 25, 2015
You knew it was only a matter of time until we got around to the obligatory "first spaghetti pictures" didn't you? It was a rather gourmet version of spaghetti, complete with organic beef/pork meatballs, however the noodles were Claire's favorite by far. Messes are so fun.

Roma was having a field day catching stray food beneath Claire's highchair during this meal. Sometimes food gets launched and it will land on the top of Roma's head, then it takes Roma a few minutes to figure out how to get to it.

New House?

Sunday, March 22, 2015
It's hard to get too excited about a house until the ink dries on closing day, but we are under contract on a house in Houston and we are really hoping to call it home soon!

We drove by the house over the weekend and snapped a selfie in front, pouring rain and all.

We are hoping things work out, but only time will tell so stay tuned.

In the meantime, it feels so good to be back home!

Cake Overload

Sunday, March 15, 2015
March is a big birthday month for our family...

We have Claire on March 4, Ross on March 7, and Mom Huebel on March 13. Needless to say we have had lots of fun birthday celebrations and entirely way too much delicious cake. I MUST RUN TOMORROW :)

Happy Birthday to all my people!

A vegetarian meal?

Wednesday, March 11, 2015
I don't eat or prepare vegetarian meals very often, but after trying this dish (thanks Mom) I'm thinking it's not so bad. Mom made this Rachel Ray recipe for Roasted Mushrooms with a Chipotle Pumpkin Polenta a few nights ago. The mushrooms have a hearty, almost chewy texture that fool you into thinking you're eating steak- ok maybe that's a stretch, but you get the idea. I failed to take any pictures but go check out the link and see for yourself!

Roma's Adjusting

Tuesday, March 10, 2015
Roma pup is adjusting to urban living in the Houston Heights while we live with my parents. Who knew finding a house would prove so difficult! Guess Roma will have to sunbathe in the Heights for a few months :)

Oh, and bark at all the neighbors.

Cake Smash!

Monday, March 09, 2015
I didn't even know what a "cake smash" was until I had a baby of my own. But it's totally a thing you gotta do, just because... Claire, Gigi, and I had a great time putting together this photoshoot!

Love this girl.
