A few memorable quotes from this week--

“The cases swing, I don’t.” -Justice Kennedy

"Mom, can I swing on the panic with you?" - Claire with slight word confusion, panic = HAMMOCK

“Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough." -Elon Musk

“There are no such thing as girl push-ups, only modified push-ups" -Instructors response when a new participant asked to do "girl push ups". Boom!

"The two things I love more than anything in the world. 1- Being with my kids 2- Not being with my kids" -@totallylivingthedream

Monday, June 25, 2018
Big news y'all... after a lot of years, we're finally building a house out on our ranch in Rock Springs, TX!!

These pictures are from a couple weeks ago, but show the foundation prep work.

The foundation has now been poured and we are awaiting the framing phase.

At the lake

Sunday, June 24, 2018
We celebrated Paige's birthday at the lakehouse with cousins. By the end of the long weekend, "boat ride" was the first thing she would say when she woke up (at 6:15) in the morning. P also learned how to say "go fast dada". :)

Paige Renae Turns 2!

Wednesday, June 20, 2018
My littlest baby turns 2 today! Claire has been at cousin camp this week and we've gotten a chance to see more of Paige's personality with the two on one time... I mean, it's easy to get drowned out when your older sister is such an extrovert :) Paige is definitely in a Mommy phase right now and doesn't love strangers. This little nugget weighs 33 lbs and wants to copy whatever sister is doing. Paige loves music, singing, snack time, swimming in the pool, pups/kitties, and playing pictures on Mommy's phone.

My little solstice baby you are my sunshine!

Cousin camp

Tuesday, June 19, 2018
Claire is a "Cousin Camp" this week and having a blast. This was the picture D sent us today of the girls heading to "Princess Camp" at the dance studio.

Yep, that's right Princess Camp...

So I think Adam wanted to make sure their evening included some more rustic activities, like spreading deer feed around the backyard.

So funny :)

Father’s Day food

Monday, June 18, 2018
We had quite a feast on Father’s Day! Daddy's know what they want and in our case it was homemade chicken tenders. Now this isn't a meal I'd choose for Mother's Day, but it was finger licking good :) As long as Granna's cake recipe isn't top secret, I will post it later because it was so good!

Cousins! Every girl has slightly different opinions about their plate in this picture. One doesn't like the ketchup, one doesn't like the crispy outside of the chicken, one is too excited to eat, and the other made a happy plate (ie empty).

HFD

Sunday, June 17, 2018
HFD= Happy Father's Day!

And a HFD to the Dad that's currently a bit far away in Ohio, where he's started a new job; FaceTime will have to do.

And a HFD to the Dad that's way too far away, but close at the same time.

What great role models for blossoming little people!

Albuquerque Aquarium and Botanical Gardens

Tuesday, June 12, 2018
On our trip to Albuquerque a few weeks ago, we had a really fun time at the Aquarium and outdoor gardens. The aquarium was all indoors and had limited opportunity for the girls to run around, so they were ready when we went to the gardens. There was an awesome kid area with so many cool sculptures/play things (see below). There was also an "insect house", we somehow ended up in (think Spiders, roaches, ants, and a whole bunch of creepy crawlies), and the girls actually liked it... maybe it was just the AC. :)

Toothless

Monday, June 11, 2018
Ross took the girls to a routine dentist appointment this morning. You can imagine my surprise when Ross called with the "after visit" summary and he began, "Well it didn't really go as planned... Claire has a infection and her tooth needs to be removed" Umm, hello Monday morning. That will get your attention.

Claire had an accident at school probably a year and a half ago where she fell into a bookcase headfirst and her front teeth got knocked really good. One tooth got pushed up into the gum and started looking a bit grey after that. But that tooth is fine. The one next to it had to come out. Apparently the trauma caused this infection almost 2 years later. Crazy right?

So she had her tooth pulled. Apparently I was way more upset than Claire. "Hey mom they took my tooth out so my grown up tooth can come in. Now I look like a boy, like Walker and Cole (her classmates who also have had teeth removed). I got a ring at the doctor Mom. I didn't even cry because I'm so brave."

Daddy took Claire to get a Strawberry smoothie for lunch.

Check out this tooth!

Top 3

Sunday, June 10, 2018
Keeping this Sunday Funday post short. Top 3 random thoughts...

1. Why do smoke detector batteries always get low in the middle of the night? And why is it so hard to tell which one the chirping is coming from? And right when you find it, the next one starts making noises.

2. Claire- "Mom, I don't even know who is going to come out of my belly one day", Ross and I simultaneously jumped in with some rendition of- "You don't have to worry about that for a long time sweetie"

3. Sickness can really get around a house can't it? This time it was an upper respiratory gremlin. *Claire got sick and it lasted close to 2 weeks. Sinus/Double ear infection = antibiotic
*Ross got sick and is/was sick, going on 3 weeks. bronchitis and antibiotic
*Paige is still coughing and it's been ~8 days. Ear infection = antibiotic
*Me...  WASHING MY HANDS EVERY SECOND

Happy Monday Y'all!
