First Golf Lessons

Tuesday, August 21, 2018
We met Daddy on the golf course for some putting practice. It was so funny to watch the girls "play" golf; Claire was swinging the club like a baseball bat and P was doing a move a lot like you see in Olympic curling.

We got in some good practice before the rain came down!

Danielle's Bridal Shower

Sunday, August 19, 2018
Last month we hosted a "Garden Party" themed Bridal shower for my future sister-in-law, Danielle Kern. It was a hot, sunny Houston afternoon with flowers, mimosas, and lots of ladies. Though one in particular was on cloud nine (in addition to Danielle)...

Hint- She's 4 years old.

Claire got to wear her official "flower girl" dress for part of the party. You know, to try it on for Danielle :)

Jeff crashed the end of the party. Mom gifted Danielle one of Grampie's jewelry boxes, which is definitely a sign D is a special gal! :)

I am still not sure if Claire understood this was not a party for HER and either is the wedding...

Let Down

Tuesday, August 14, 2018
Being a working mommy comes with its challenges. For example, I planned to take Claire to a hair braiding class. I was so excited. But, work had other plans. We missed the class and a chance to have a fun Mommy/Daughter date. So we will need to adapt and plan another adventure instead.

Love this 4 year old!

10 YEARS!

Sunday, August 12, 2018
Ross and I had a 10 year anniversary that came and went with very little fan fare because everyone was sick in our house. Turns out Ross had made some very thoughtful plans, which all had to be cancelled due to "Stomach Virus 2018".  Ross tried to keep things Top Secret because he knows how much I love a good surprise, but had to wave the white flag last week so we could cut our losses and make some alternate arrangements.  Now we'll just have to stretch out the celebration... that's my favorite thing to do anyway :)

Here's some advice my "Now Self" would tell my "10 years ago Self":
*Good job marrying this guy.
*Are you really going to make your best friends wear aqua colored bridesmaids dresses?!
*Alaska is awesome, trust me.
*Apologize
*There's probably two sides to the story
*Invest in Apple stock
*Communication
*Don't talk during movies bc Ross gets mad
*Relax, you will make some cute babies
*Travel
*Remember to tell Ross how much you love him each and every day

:)

Blast from the past, first year anniversary blog post: First Year Anniversary

And lots of wedding pictures. Happy Anniversary Ross!

Ross surprised me with with diamond earrings-- I had NO idea!!

Under Attack

Claire and I are under the weather with "Stomach Virus 2018". And Paige Renea woke up with two pink eyes... Poor Ross. Hoping for sunny skies tomorrow!

Toothless

Monday, August 06, 2018
Claire Avery likes to wear beautiful dresses like "Fancy Nancy" on special occasions.

But Claire also likes to play, which is why she's missing a front tooth at age 4.

She fell in to a bookcase at school a year ago and the tooth recently had to be extracted because the roots died. Thankfully, her grown-up tooth behind it looks good. Grown-up what?! :)

Prepping

Sunday, August 05, 2018
The little nuggets are missing Gigi and Pop Pop so much; Ohio is just too far away. I snapped these pictures a couple weeks ago before the move. Gigi and the girls were "cooking", putting fruit on a skewer to create rainbow skewers to an appetizer.

String the blueberry, red grape, strawberry, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, pineapple on a skewer and you have yourself a "rainbow skewer". There is just something irresistible about bright, colorful food. Somehow I failed to get a final picture... but you get the idea!

Can you guess what we were prepping for? Here's a hint:

It will be a blog post very soon!

Poppers

Wednesday, August 01, 2018
What are those little firecracker things called that pop when you throw them on the ground?  I'm going to go with Poppers for now...

Claire loved the Popper things that Gigi brought over and really got into the concept of "slamming" them on the ground.

Paige, not so much. Next year!
