GS Party

We had 18 Girl Scouts come over on Sunday for a cookie decorating party. It was a little chaos and a lot of fun! Another mommy brought all the supplies and another brought cookies, so hosting was relatively easy.

Paige was LOVING being an honorary Girl Scout. Or the frosting? Or both.

Roller Skating

How is this the only pictures I captured at the girls first roller rink experience aka a birthday party for a friend.

I can tell you exactly why- I too had on roller skates and was holding on for dear life. I can't believe we did this as kids without helmets and full PPE, but somehow... I had one fall trying to show Claire something and it HURT.

Guessing the kids will have on the 'whole nine' the next we go roller skating!

Elf

Granna took Claire and I to the theater to see the musical adaption of the movie "Elf." It was so cute and we enjoyed our girl time. Paige can join us next year :)

There are a slew of kid crafts that are available nowadays that weren't around when I was growing up.  For example Crayola Scribble Scrubbie Pets. They're felt like little pets that you color on and then you give them a bath and the marker washes off. The girls love them. Mom does too as long as the bathtubs are outside...

Ross flew over our house today and we got a special "wing wave" :)

Unfortunately a couple cars decided to pull into our street at exactly the same time as Ross flew over,  impeding my picture taking ability during the subsequent kid round up.

I guess he'll have to do it again!

Cold

The wind is howling outside as a cold front sweeps across Texas. It went from 75 this morning, to 45 now, and is apparently going to be 30 in the morning. BRRRRR. Sometimes I have to have a pep talk with myself about how we used to live in Alaska... Anyway reminds me of our last coldish day in Houston- Halloween!

We had to put some clothes (jammies) under the girls costumes, which they were not happy about.

So thankful to have Jeff and Danielle nearby on those weekends Ross is out of town. They came to the Saturday morning soccer and then took the girls out for pancakes while I got my long run in.
