I stumbled upon on an awesome TED talk type lecture on Netflix called Brene Brown: Daring Greatly. She is such a great speaker who sprinkles a whole lotta humor (and some expletives) into this very honest 1-hour lecture based on her book. It's also neat that she lives in Houston, a professor at U of H, which instantly made her relatable to me.
“We can’t selectively numb emotion. Numb the dark and you numb the light.”
― Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead
If you need a bit of a "life pep-talk" then take an hour to watch this on Netflix. Extra points if you watch it with your spouse :)
