Amelia Bedelia and Moana both had Book Character Day. At Paige's school it coincided with their Fall festival. So many smiles for Mommy!

Possum

I was convinced there was a possum wrecking havoc in our yard, but I realize that's a bold statement. However, I started seeing holes in our grass/mulch and some of our new plants were missing. I mean how else do you explain that?
I was looking at the neighbors new spotlight, also shining right into our house, this evening and then I saw it. I grabbed a flashlight and ran outside. The possum was walking along the top of our fence; he froze in the light. And then I froze. What do I do? I don't have a BB gun? Is that even legal? This thing is so ugly. Where's Ross? Somehow I settled on "Shoooo, go away, scat you pest".
Now taking "how to get rid of a possum in our yard" suggestions.

We tried to be super fun weeknight parents with a pizza/pool family night and it totally went sideways when Paige got sick. Poor Baby with a tummy bug. Do we at least get credit for trying? or partial credit?

While Houston was under seige from a tropical storm a few weeks ago, Ross and I were enjoying perfect weather in Boston. We did a city bike tour where I was reminded that there ain't no "Southern Hospitality" in Boston :)

Here's what happened today-
C: "Mom when are you going to put up Halloween decorations?"
E: "I put some leaves on the mantle, did you see?"
C: "Mom, that's not even Halloween"
E: "I put a pumpkin on the dining table?"
C: "Mom, it's got to be spooky or a little bit scary to be Halloween"
E: "Oh"
C: "Like a jack'o'lantern with crooked teeth. Sheesh, I can do that"
Fast forward a couple hours.
Mommy has a beer AND places an online Target order.
