It’s Girl Scout cookie time! It’s Claire first year as a (Daisy) Girl Scout, so we will be learning about how the cookie process works, but Claire is ready.
For example, on FaceTime tonight with Gigi and pop pop:
C- You like cookies Gigi? I have some. What kinds to you want?
G- I'll have a 1 box of thin mints and 1 box of Caramel Delites
C- Ok. So you want 2 boxes of thin mints and 2 boxes of caramel Gigi?
G- No. I want 1 thin mint, 1 Caramel, and how about you choose another for me?
C- Ok 3 boxes. Can I talk to Pop Pop?
C- Pop Pop you want to buy some cookies?
C- That will cost some money
so funny.

Rest Week

Does a massage count as a workout? :)
I was fairly lazy this week after the run last weekend. Oddly enough, I kind of missed the running; it's become an important stress reliever for me. I know my stress oozed out in other ways, just ask Ross.
How do you clear your mind?

Winter in TX

Oh I love a good hot tub/heated pool when it's cool outside. Especially after a long run. And especially with good friends!

Sideline Cheering
Monday, January 20, 2020
Did I mention it was 44 at the start line? I ran with gloves and a headband and kept 'em on the whole way, never really feeling like I warmed up. We experienced a 15-20 mile per hour head wind on the back half of the Half, right where the cheering section was stationed. :) Who knew headwind could feel like elevation?
Little one looks sooo cold in all these pictures!
You can almost hear Ross saying "Paige turn the sign around" and instead she turns herself around.
Claire looked like she was loving the cold weather, BUT she had on an extra layer. And she was born in Alaska.
Paige was born in Houston and not digging the weather at all. Oh, my baby needs a hat and a blanket! I mean look at this face...
Saw Uncle Jeff and Aunt Danielle run by!
Mommy was in the zone, not realizing the cheering crew was right there!
Until I heard a loud, mad Ross version of my name "LIZ!" and I turned around. "Hi my babies!"

Basketball
Sunday, January 12, 2020
I failed to explain some of the finer points of basketball logistics, but we had our first practices/games and all had fun!
Now how do we teach a 3 year old how to dribble and launch the ball in the basket way above her head? As long as there is a snack afterwards...

2020?
Sunday, January 05, 2020
Wait, it's 2020? It's like I've been a weird time warp caused by the flu for the last 10 days, where everyday is ground hog day: Sleep, eat because others are doing it, sleep, repeat. Thankfully my mom was in town, so I could sleep and rest and Ross wasn't solo with the kiddos. But then Claire and Ross got sick too. And before you ask, we ALL had our flu shots this season.
This sickness has been quite humbling, at the height of half marathon training and getting completely struck down and confined to bed for over a week. I still feel quite weak/exhausted. Please take this as a reminder to get your flu shot every year! Hope I'll be getting back to work (and blogging) this week.
And better late than never...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
